Now that I have lived in Charlottenburg for many years, and I’ve been able to see how this part of the city has positively changed, it’s been a nice surprise to stroll through the streets and stumble upon art galleries and studios like Object40 on Schulüterstraße — which specializes in displaying art from artists of the former DDR, Karl-Heinz Adler or Friedrich Kracht just to name a few. I appreciate that they are providing a platform here to showcase their impressive art.
Another very personal recommendation I have for this weekend, are the exhibition of photographs by Ariane Hosemann. What unites her artworks is their distinct characteristics, and her value of this position, but also her individual, habitual search for congruity — which she questions consistently with her work. Her impressive series “Feuer” (“Fire”) is on display from tomorrow night (21.4.2017) at the new M+ Projekt artspace. (Text: Kostas Murkudis / Photos: Ariane Hoseman (L), c/o Object40 (M, R))
