It’s not easy to get hold of a ticket for Berlin’s outdoor swimming pools right now. But if you’re lucky enough to grab a ticket for Sommerbad Humboldthain, not only do you get access to a pleasantly empty swimming pool and plenty of space on the sunbathing lawn, but you can visit the Tropez art space and kiosk. The team’s fifth year of exhibitions is dedicated to a topic that has been much neglected lately: touch. The works in the group show at the kiosk all deal with ideas around proximity, touch and haptics. The terrace has been transformed with new seating from concept fashion label Bless, wind chimes by Lauryn Youden which jingle in the trees and a minimalist sculpture by Cecilia Bjartmar Hylta that stands in front of the pavilion and reveals itself to be a sensor-controlled automatic animal feeder. Readings, performances and concerts will soon complete the program, which also includes livestreams and literature podcasts. Perfect for those rainier days or if you are still waiting for that coveted swimming slot…
