HABIBI INTERIORS — TRADITIONAL MOROCCAN CRAFTSMANSHIP

Keeping the story of One Thousand and One Nights alive was the inspiration behind Habibi Interiors. Integrating traditional Moroccan decor with contemporary design, they have created a beautiful space to show their hand-cut, crafted and designed tiles and mosaics. For 15 years, owner Alexander Urban has been running his studios in London, but in 2015 he finally brought his business to Berlin’s district of Schöneberg. He aims to keep Moroccan identity current, whilst developing and protecting the expertise of his trade. Upon entering the showroom, you can choose from a huge array of tiles and mosaics, creating your personal Moroccan dream design by combining your favorite patterns, colors and ornamentation. There are bright, warm and bold pallets alongside traditional blue and white tiles, all of which can be easily combined due to their simplicity and uncomplicated beauty. Besides the tiles, there are also other interior details from Morocco, such as the light shades, metal fretwork and wooden Mucharabi oriental patterns. The art pieces, which have existed unchanged for centuries, have a distinct charm; suitable for decorating your home or your work space. (Text: Michaela Wölfel / Photo: Doreen Geyer)
