Momos puts the popular Nepali fast food on Berlin’s culinary map. Martin and Marco traveled to Nepal themselves to see how this traditional Asian delicacy momo, the Nepali version of steamed or fried dumplings, are prepared there. Six weeks ago they opened a small restaurant offering four different types of momos with three different dips; all of which are vegan or vegetarian, less spicy than the native version, and strictly organic (100% certified!). Their potato filling is very authentic while others are customized versions with ingredients available in Germany, such as sweet potato and pea mixture. Soup and salad of the day complete the menu. Momos offers a perfect light lunch or a healthy alternative to classic snacks offered in the vicinity, as well as a new cute quiet place to dine just off the busy Torstrasse and bustling Schönhauser Allee.
