RESTAURANT MOOS AT SILENT GREEN KULTURQUARTIER

RESTAURANT MOOS AT SILENT GREEN KULTURQUARTIER

The name came easily. The owner of Restaurant Moos, Charly Huber, has a soft spot for a certain kind of landscape with marshy characteristics, “Moos”, so he created a place that is natural, earthy, and rooted in the soil. The name “Moos” simply sounds green, and that’s reflected in the green of their garden and in the dishes that they serve. The restaurant offers cuisine inspired by the countryside – rustic, down to earth, and hearty – yet creative and not the least bit stodgy. The menu also includes a variety of options for vegans and vegetarians, including delicious smoked and roasted vegetables. You could meet your friends here for Hong Kong rice porridge for breakfast, BBQ eggplant for lunch, or coffee and a variety of delectable cakes. Restaurant Moos opened about a year ago to serve visitors to the silent green Kulturquartier. Now the restaurant itself has become an institution in its own right, attracting people beyond the cultural center’s audience. Located next to the former Berlin-Wedding crematory, the old tower rises high into the sky, tranquil and quiet, simply beautiful. (Text: Olga Schlosser / Photos: Katharina Mau)
