Yesterday night was the opening of two solo exhibitions by Otto Piene, one of the forerunners of light art installations in the early 60s. First opening was at the Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle and later at the Neue Nationalgalerie. You could feel the inner happiness of the 86 year old artist when he gave a very calm speech last night, saying how happy he was to see people at his exhibition, something he could only dream of as a young man. Not to be missed is the Light Art Event this Saturday from 15:00-03:00 on the rooftop of the Neue Nationalgalerie. For the thirsty visitors: the Pauly Saal Bar will open a pop up bar inside the Neue Nationalgalerie. (Text: Sven Hausherr)
