If you are staying in town over the long weekend or perhaps are hosting friends or family, the Charlottenwalk series of tours through Charlottenburg’s gallery scene is just the thing. A total of 41 galleries – from established institutions to up-and-coming entrants – will open their doors on Friday evening (03.06.2022) for after-work art strolls and again on Saturday all day (04.06.). To make the most of events, you can put yourself in expert hands by joining one of the guided tours through the district by art historians from Art:berlin. You can also enjoy a glass of wine or bubbles at the vernissages and finissages which many galleries have planned specially for the event. One such space is Haverkamp Leistenschneider, home to the exhibition “Mönch” from Berlin painter Stefan Hirsig that is set to close this weekend. Other highlights include “Antigone”, Tacita Dean’s latest print project at Borch Editions on Goethestraße and Alexander Deubl’s “Love over Gold” at Kunsthandel Uekermann. Once you’ve had your fill of gallery action, we recommend you head to the newly opened Freunde Bar on Wielandstraße for an art talk before stopping by Fasanen 47 for an after-art nightcap.
