PATRICIA STAFFA RECOMMENDS: HOLY FLAT!

PATRICIA STAFFA RECOMMENDS: HOLY FLAT!

The newly-opened but long awaited Holy Flat! in Neukölln is the vegetarian answer to the flood of burger places that have inundated the streets around this area. The Flats and Bowls they have on offer are so delicious that they will tempt even the most loyal of meat-lovers; it’s hard not to be delighted by the composition of each dish. As a self-proclaimed Bowl fan, my favourite is the Red Bowl – with beetroot, quinoa, hummus and avocado, it tastes simply heavenly. The Flats, homemade flatbread made from organic spelt dough and filled with fresh ingredients, are particularly intriguing, with their unusual and original variations. The dough is made fresh every day and baked to order. Brothers Bitz and Batz (nicknames, of course) have launched a great concept with Holy Flat!, taking delicious vegetarian meals and preparing them in a stylish but very relaxed atmosphere. In addition to the many delicacies, the wall painting by Japanese street artist Twoone leaves one dreaming about wild forests. Magnificent in every way! (Text: Patricia Staffa)
