A SUMMER OF CULTURE — TOURS, DRAWING CLASSES AND MORE ON MUSEUM ISLAND

A SUMMER OF CULTURE — TOURS, DRAWING CLASSES AND MORE ON MUSEUM ISLAND

Looking for an island to visit this summer? How about Museum Island, and the Summer Program from Berlin’s state galleries and museums? Under the tagline Rauf auf die Insel! (Off to the island!) the museums have prepared a comprehensive program of tours, workshops, talks and film screenings to keep you occupied for the rest of summer. If you’ve always wanted to find out more about one of the city’s main cultural centers you can join one of the Museum Island tours held several times a week for a glimpse at the outstanding 19th- and 20th-century architecture of its five museum buildings, before heading to a learning session at the Haus Bastian’s Verstärker space for a visual exploration of the subject of age. Meanwhile, the family activity tables in the Colonnade Courtyard are the perfect place for young hands to draw, paint and build outdoors. This programme brings cultural exchange directly to Berlin’s center, holiday feeling included! (Text: Hanna Komornitzyk / Photos: Valerie Schmidt for Staatliche Museen zu Berlin & Fionn Grosse)
