RE-MEX — SWAP YOUR CLOTHES FOR A SHOT AND A GOOD CAUSE

If you want to get rid of your old clothes, rather than throwing them in the recycling bin, why not take them to Mercado San Cosme or The Wye this weekend and get a shot of Mezcal in return? Great, but why the Mexican drink you may ask. This event is a part of “Re-Mex“, a Mexican and European culture initiative promoting positive change in society and the urban environment. All items donated to Schmidttakahashi, the Berlin-based design duo experimenting with an alternative recycling system through fashion, will become part of their unique new pieces of “resampled” clothing. Contrary to what you might expect, the result is high-quality fashion; Eugenie Schmidt and Mariko Takahashi are two very sophisticated graduates from Berlin’s University of the Arts Weissensee.
