The store by René Talmon L’Armée is a bit hidden, located in a historical building in the less frequented part of the picturesque Linienstrasse. The carefully renovated interior features dark walls, historic tile floors, and beautiful old wood-and-glass vitrines and furniture. This is no ordinary jewelry shop offering some bling bling; this is a one-of-a-kind boutique, a little cosmos of objets d’art. In admiring the fine and precisely made unique pieces, I could not help but feel reverent toward them. L’Armée’s work focuses on the use of oxidized silver, 18K yellow gold and black and naturally colored diamonds. The creator is often present in the shop himself, working on new pieces. His success story started in Paris, where he opened his first boutique in 2001 before opening the Berlin store and moving back to his former hometown. Outside of his own shop you can find his distinctive creations at concept stores such as Apartment or Andreas Murkudis, but it’s in here where you can truly explore his bespoke items and distinctive style.
