RUT SIGURDARDOTTIR RECOMMENDS: FABRIC STORE FICHU

It’s a challenge to make your way through the colorful landscape of the unique vintage fabrics in this legendary Schöneberg shop. But with Oleg, the king of this castle, by your side, you can be sure to find your way through, getting a treat for the eye and food for the soul. Fichu is a fabric shop in the Akazienstraße that sells vintage fabrics from the 20’s – 60’s. Having been in business for 85 years, it is the last shop of its kind, being a one-of-a-kind not only in Berlin but in all of Europe as well. Oleg, the storeowner, has become somewhat of a legend in the neighborhood. He is one of its colorful characters, with his long beard, hat and stylish wardrobe, he is hard to go unnoticed. A time travel visit to this Berlin treasure is a must-do for every vintage lover.
