BREAD, SWEETS & MORE AT CAFÉ LIST

BREAD, SWEETS & MORE AT CAFÉ LIST

Long live List. Why? Well simply put, it’s a pleasant place. You can feel the love, blood and tears that went into revamping an ordinary Neukölln spot into this cozy gem. The interior was entirely built by owner Julia Starck. Take a seat at one of the wooden tables and experience a German classic: bread (or as Berliners would say, a stulle). The beetroot-horseradish version is a hit and the mountain-cheese-covered-and-grilled version is another great choice. Served on wooden plates (self-made of course) they look and taste like a good ol’ German dish, but extremely fine – the amount of bread and topping are perfectly balanced. As for me, I’d return in the afternoon just for the slightly salted chocolate cake in a glass — with some homemade elderflower syrup lemonade. If you choose to come in the evening, the bar is a nice place to hang out. We tried the matcha infused cocktail and were delighted! If you want to experience the extended version of the stulle, join the “Brotzeit”: a regular event hosted by Julia offering space for 16 people. (Text: Nina Trippel)
