SMAC PRESENTS JENNY MICHEL: “WIE ES IST”

The complex works of Berlin-based artist Jenny Michel function like labyrinthine maps through the multi-layered world of human thoughts. They can be read along the spectrum between science and fiction, ironizing the absoluteness of consciousness in society, while exposing ideals as self-contradictory phenomena. Objects, drawings, photographs, texts, and videos are combined in comprehensive series of works, which come together like modules to form a greater whole. Alluding to Samuel Beckett’s novel “Wie es ist,” the artist’s multimedia installation, spanning three floors of the project room SMAC, opens today (15.09.2016).
