Seafood and live minimal synth as a starter and a dessert of coconut pancake with performative movement on the side. At a Soydivision event, experimental mixing of food and performance is a given. Developed by Indonesian-born artist and activist Ariel William Orah, these are pop-up dinners with a difference, creating experiences not just for your tastebuds but for your eyes and ears too. The series comes in two varieties: Soy & Synth, which combines relaxed cuisine with experimental music, and the longer Empathy Supper, which blends a full five-course dinner with both performance and visual art. In both cases, the Soydivision team’s Indonesian heritage informs both the food and performance curation. And like the art, the cuisine is radical: a vegan Tongseng curry with jackfruit sums it up well, while wines from Motif Wein complete an atmosphere that feels homely yet inquisitive. With this daring mix of contemporary cuisine and performance, the Soydivision collective experiment on two fronts, leaving your hunger satisfied and your mind inspired.
