STUDIO WETTER — READY FOR SPRING SHOWERS WITH SUSTAINABLE UMBRELLAS

An umbrella that protects you from the rain, promises timeless design and is sustainably produced? How about the stylish umbrellas from Studio Wetter to get you ready for Berlin’s moody spring weather? The brand was founded in 2020 by friends Carla Dikdur, Larissa Hunekohl and Ramona Hartmann, who having worked in design and advertising, wanted to bring back the umbrella as an eye-catching accessory. As well as looking the part, these brollies are considerate in their construction: the materials are sourced from recycled plastic bottles, with climate-neutral production. The frame is made of flexible fiberglass struts, and is wind-tested, making it particularly stable in stormy gusts which can kill less robust constructions!

Manufacturing is located in Shenzhen, China, and is BSCI-certified, meaning that workers receive a fair wage, European labor standards are applied, and environmental standards are respected. The CO2 emissions generated during production and transport are offset by environmental projects such as Plastic Banks, an initiative letting people exchange plastic for money and essential goods. Studio Wetter offers a choice of six different color combinations via their online store, with the bright orange and beige our personal favorite. Maybe there really is no such thing as bad weather…
