PASTEL FLOWERS, DISCO BALLS & DIY INTERIORS — DISCOVERING COLORS AND SHAPES AT TÄNII FLOWERSTUDIO

From outside it looks like an ordinary florist, but inside Tänii Flowerstudio is a pastel dream come true. Everything here is out of the ordinary, from the beautifully curated flower selection to the disco balls and tiled plinths and checkout counters. On entry you’ll be greeted with a wide smile, a polite hello and some K-pop in the background. Owner Taeyeon Park had free reign to create her unique shop, a fascinating mix of color and glitter which, though busy, remains bright, charming and understated. There are many flowers, all of which are beautiful (it’s tempting to ask for a bouquet with everything). Born and raised in Korea, Taeyeon moved to Germany in 2010 to learn to become a florist. After three years of training she ended up at Marsano, becoming a certified florist before opening her own shop in Gesundbrunnen almost two years ago. Taeyeon’s flowers are unlimited in their color, shape and composition, and can be combined with self-knitted woolen flower pot covers, fancy wreaths, dried flowers and greeting cards.

A flower arrangement from Taeyeon is an absolute must, however: give her carte blanche and she will conjure up the perfect bouquet wrapped in color-coordinated tissue paper. Her hands seem to work instinctively to create arrangements that are light, dreamy and playful. If you want to bring some color to a gray day or give your loved ones (or yourself) a present, Taeyeon is the right person for the job. Oh, and besides flowers, she has started offering something quite unexpected but extremely cute: photoshoots with babies and flowers in the back room. We like!
