Yes, Valentine’s Day can mean candlelit dinners and floral gifts, but also psychedelic beats and extraplanetary art – at least at Tropez Valentine’s Night (Fri 14.02.2020), the club night billed as “anything but romantic”. Hosting are Humboldthain art group Tropez, who for one night have swapped their poolside gallery for Moabit’s Trauma Bar und Kino, which since 2018 has been running diverse films, dance performances and art installations alongside club nights. Friday’s party has it all, with music from French harpist and producer Ange Halliwell and a set from “escort and DJ” Urami that goes from French rap to goa trance, with radio host and DJ Kikelomo closing up with grime, techno and more. The party is part of QT UR EA, a two-month series that transforms Trauma with performance, installations and virtual worlds from artists LUKAS8K and Mary-Audrey Ramirez. The dancing continues on Saturday 15.02 with audiovisual performances and DJ sets inspired by Borshch Magazine’s “Dark Side” issue.
