“Anchor” (video), the opening track to Tu Fawning‘s new album, sounded so amazing that I had to hit repeat several times before listening to the rest of “A Monument”. It’s their mix of melancholy meets pop that appeals so much to me, with the hymnic vocals atop the dense and extraordinary instrumentation; not to mention their smart lyrics. In a nut shell, this second album by Tu Fawning is my current favorite and certainly will not end up as a short love affair. “A Monument” was officially released today and the Portland band will introduce their new music live on stage at HAU 2 this Saturday.
