Opened November 2018 by husband and wife Giacomo and Anna, Venue is a fresh spot on the Weserstraße with a concept: the “morning plate” – an à la carte brunch menu that lets you pick items from five different categories: vegetables, eggs, dairy, meat / fish, and baked goods. Each item arrives in its own small plate, letting individual ingredients shine. Start with a sliced avocado drizzled with a palate-prickling chilli oil and topped with watercress and chopped almonds for texture. Then bite into the gravlax served with horseradish before indulging further with the fluffy mini pancakes sweetened with a fruit and caramel sauce. Combine these delightful dishes with a pink latte (beans courtesy of Berlin’s Fjord Coffee Roasters) and you’ll end up with a brunch that’s as dazzling as Venue’s interior, with its pink rose-patterned wallpaper, diner-style seating and starburst b&w tiles.
