They store collections and small treasures, memories and things too valuable to be left to gather dust in a corner. They keep the shelves tidy, but sometimes they simply clear up the chaos in our own lives. No one makes more beautiful storage boxes than vier ecken. During her studies at the Weißensee School of Art, Henriette Artz learned the basics of bookbinding and it has remained an integral part of her work ever since. Sometimes she builds hat boxes for larger projects, sometimes she binds books and notebooks for friends. When she moved to her studio in Weißensee in 2021 — so she could have more space for her projects — she started making linen boxes and has been selling them online in small batches ever since. The boxes are covered with bookbinding linen and are available in classic colors, such as sand and brown, as well as pastel and vivid colors, such as soft pink and deep orange. Henriette also makes custom pieces for you, with your own desired dimensions and color combinations. Her flair for color becomes clear when you open the boxes: another linen reveals itself inside, contrasting wonderfully with the outer color, adding an element of delight when you open them and find your treasured trinkets. They are the perfect way to present gifts on special occasions and a long-lasting alternative to conventional wrapping paper which ends up crumpled in the bin. Although, it can be difficult to find a gift as beautiful as the boxes themselves to go inside.
