BODIES AND CLAWS: BÄRENZWINGER INVITES YOU TO A PERFORMANCE NIGHT

What does wilderness mean? The performance company Wild Access is ever-exploring how we react to familiar and unfamiliar environments. Since 2021, they’ve been transforming parks, sports fields and former industrial areas into their stage. With interactive choreographies that combine light and sound, they inspire their audience to perceive, approach and engage with familiar and peripheral urban spaces in new ways. For three consecutive evenings from Friday (19.04.2024), Bärenzwinger will host the performance series “Clinch”: based on the exhibition venue’s history as a former bear enclosure, the performers create a fictional environment in which the human and animalistic converge — and are in a clinch. The audience can actively participate in the performance (weatherproof clothing is recommended). Following the performance, the artists invite you to a relaxed discussion with drinks to talk about “Clinch”: dance, desire, distance, domestication and, of course, what it means to be wild.
