ZINEFEST — CELEBRATING SELF-MADE PUBLICATIONS

ZINEFEST — CELEBRATING SELF-MADE PUBLICATIONS

Launched in 2010 and continuing now for its fifth year running, the Berlin Zinefest will take place this weekend. The organizers are dedicated to working together as a group for their ever-changing community. Increasingly popular in Berlin, a zine is defined as a non-commercial and self-produced publication. The event offers plenty of new stock to explore, alongside workshops like “The Momentary Zine” byHackers & Designers; an open walk-in publishing station where you can explore the process of making a zine. Another workshop is called “Tell Me Your Story” by visual artist Rudy Loewe, who invites participants to tell their experiences by making their very own zine – a way of empowering the individual. It’s a fabulous convention where zine-lovers unite, and where anyone can browse and purchase zines if they wish. (Text: Isabelle Kagelius)
