2022 has been (another) year of art collectives. As it comes to a close, Berlin-based Slavs and Tatars are adding to the chorus with a book: Лук Бук (Look Book). For the first time, the highly productive group of artists are publishing a collection of their prints – the result of 15 years of art that has been displayed in galleries including New York’s MoMA and Secession in Vienna. Published by Distanz, “Лук Бук” is in fact a catalog to accompany an exhibition of the same name at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee in Belgium. Tonight (03.11.2022) at 18h30 the book’s launch is taking place at the publisher’s offices on Hallesches Ufer. Publisher and author Pablo Larios will talk to the Slavs and Tatars themselves and you can also buy a selection of Merczbau merchandise. Proceeds will be donated to the University of Lviv in Ukraine.
