FROM ART TO RUNNING & ONTO THE DANCE FLOOR: MARATHON WEEKEND WITH ON AT KRAFTWERK

FROM ART TO RUNNING & ONTO THE DANCE FLOOR: MARATHON WEEKEND WITH ON AT KRAFTWERK

Planning your race weekend in Berlin? Be sure to stop by On Labs Berlin. For three days, sports brand On is transforming Kraftwerk Berlin into a space where innovation, art, music, and running culture converge. Just a few days remain until the Berlin Marathon, and you can already feel the energy in the air. On weekends, Berlin’s parks fill with runners completing their final training before the big race. Their faces show total focus mixed with excitement, as the marathon brings a wealth of side events that make the weekend surrounding the 21.09.2025 a unique experience. This year, Swiss brand Onis creating one of the absolute hotspots with its program. From Friday to Sunday (19–21.09), On will turn Kraftwerk Berlin into a multisensory experience — not just for runners, but for anyone curious to take part. At the heart of the event is the LightSpray™ robot, which produces the company’s lightest performance running shoe in just three minutes, worn by marathon icons Hellen Obiri and Samuel Fitwi, among others.

To let you experience this innovative technology in a truly special way, On has teamed up with Dutch artist Boris Acket. With his spatial installation Architecting Lightness, he transforms air into a meditative, sculptural environment where lightness takes shape and becomes visible. Inspired by Acket’s Einder series, a large-scale, semi-transparent textile floats freely in the space, moved by invisible air currents. The textile’s gentle movements guide you through the installation, evoking an intense feeling of freedom. On Friday evening (19.09), Kraftwerk becomes a stage for Berlin’s music scene: together with Berlin label Heisss, expect an evening of electronic music from Amotik and Inox Traxx, as well as performances by Heisss residents Kim She and Disguised. It’s the perfect start to your race weekend. Saturday (20.09.) has even more in store: On Labs Berlin presents a music night with Atonal, featuring DJ sets by Logic1000, Big Ever, and Lee Gamble. The latter also brings an installation that conveys the sensation of lightness through sound. If you’d rather focus on your own performance, On has curated a lineup of workouts (Hagius) and workshops (Tourist). And for a personal sense of lightness, there will also be massages by new:soul.

HAPPY PET, HAPPY PARENT — COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR YOUR COMPANIONS AT FILU

HAPPY PET, HAPPY PARENT — COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR YOUR COMPANIONS AT FILU

If you have a pet, you know how hard it can be to tell what they need – and when something is wrong. This is where vets come in: they bridge the communication gap between you and your pet when they are unwell and provide routine check-ups so your pet feels their best. One veterinary surgery that takes a particularly modern approach to this is Charlottenburg-based Filu. The team uses the latest tech and an in-house laboratory to carry out stress-free examinations, provide emergency services, and deliver quick results. As a cat parent myself, I was particularly impressed by the special cat rooms: my cat cannot stand the stress of moving between locations and being poked and prodded upon arriving, so being able to reduce stress levels is reassuring. They have two fully equipped operating rooms, allowing them to handle a wide range of procedures — including surgeries, X-rays, and ultrasounds — right at the clinic. This is especially convenient, as it saves you from having to visit multiple locations if a more serious issue arises. Bookings, invoices, and test results are all managed digitally, adding a level of convenience for busy pet parents like myself. The result: fewer hassles for you and more purring and tail-wagging for your pet.

BETWEEN BAR STOOLS & APERITIVO: KRASS BÖSER WOLF SERVES THE SIDE BOULEVARD FOR THE SCHWEPPES APERO XPERIENCE

BETWEEN BAR STOOLS & APERITIVO: KRASS BÖSER WOLF SERVES THE SIDE BOULEVARD FOR THE SCHWEPPES APERO XPERIENCE

When bar Krass Böser Wolf opened its doors in 2015, it was primarily one thing: a neighborhood pub. Over the years, however, amid barstools, cigarette smoke, and club crowds, it evolved into a destination for quality drinks. Today, the Friedrichshain hotspot is known just as much for its pub vibe as its cocktail creations. Classics like Espresso Martini, Basil Smash, and rotating signature creations are on the menu. For the Schweppes Apero Xperience 2025, the team at Krass Böser Wolf has crafted a drink that perfectly balances tradition and innovation, aperitif and nightlife: the Side Boulevard. Bourbon, red vermouth and Campari give it depth, while a salty note adds intrigue. Topped with Schweppes White Peach and a twist of orange, it creates a fruity-fresh contrast that dips into aperitif territory. A mix of bitterness and lightness, straddling the line between a classic Boulevardier and a summery reinterpretation. The Schweppes Apero Xperience brings Mediterranean aperitif culture to bars across Germany and Austria, showcasing the versatility of Schweppes’ signature flavors. Krass Böser Wolf and their Side Boulevard cocktail are the perfect proof of this. And, since summer is slipping away, you’d better hurry straight to Friedrichshain.

DEEP CALM FOR BODY & MIND — VIVIEN & YOU MASSAGE

DEEP CALM FOR BODY & MIND — VIVIEN & YOU MASSAGE

With her combined practice of massage, energy work, movement, and mindful rituals, Vivienne offers a holistic, calming experience in Mitte, one that relaxes the body and mind, releases tension, and grounds. And a little tension slips right off your shoulders the moment Vivienne opens her door on Almstadtstraße with a broad smile. Slowly, you follow her down the stairs into a monochrome room. The space smells woody and earthy — incredibly good. Vivienne radiates such calm that you can’t help but wonder how she maintains it in a city like Berlin. When you lie down on the couch in the quiet room, time stands still. Then… Vivienne begins the massage. A dancer, choreographer, and bodyworker, Vivienne not only teaches various movement formats in studios across the city but also devotes herself to the bodies of Berliners battered by sport, work, and life. She works with Reiki, gong, massage, and energy work — with movement, self-expression, and community at the heart of her practice. A trained anthropologist, she is also certified in deep tissue, wellness, sports, and trigger point massage, as well as Kobido, a traditional Japanese facial massage with eight techniques, which she integrates into her sessions.

Vivienne pays particular attention to oxygen-depleted areas in the body. Her massages combine anatomical knowledge with a sensitivity to breathing, energy, and expression. Every treatment at VV You follows a carefully designed sequence. In addition to massage, aromatherapy, red light, hot towels with Japanese mint oil, tea, and water are part of the ritual. These small but intentional details make each visit a complete experience that goes beyond the massage itself. Touch and breath promote circulation, tension is released, and you leave the massage table feeling freer, more flexible, and calmer. It’s as if Vivienne’s spirit lingers with you — as if she presses her groundedness deep into her clients’ muscles. Eventually, you find yourself back on the street, but a little better equipped for the day. For life. At least until the tension creeps back in.
