Formerly the site of a 14th century mill on the nearby river Finow, this country pile is now home to the country art residency Art Biesenthal that opens its doors again this year. The current owner discovered the dilapidated mill and transformed this picturesque location into an expansive 300 sq.m exhibition space and guest house with unique charm and an unmistakable stucco façade. A co-working space and cafe by Sankt Oberholz adds to the attraction. Every year, selected artists live and work on the site: Alicja Kwade, Norbert Bisky and Michael Sailstorfer have already been guests, the exhibitions a reflection of their experience there. This year, 35 international and national artists are exhibiting their works, including Dennis Feddersen, Markus Kiebel, Andreas Mühe and Oskar Marie Rink. The vernissage will be accompanied by DJs, live performances and picnics in the lush meadows. It makes the hour-long drive to Biesenthal well worth it.
