BERLIN ART WEEK: CEE CEE’S GUIDE TO THIS YEAR’S MUST-SEES

BERLIN ART WEEK: CEE CEE’S GUIDE TO THIS YEAR’S MUST-SEES

11–15 September is Berlin Art Week! It’s the perfect opportunity to check out all the art and culture you’ve missed this summer. The program begins next Wednesday (11.09.2019) in the Statista, the former GDR government building saved from demolition by artists and now open to the public for the first time. Don’t miss the Studio WangShui exhibition at the Julia Stoschek Collection. Also opening on 11.09, the work deals with queer spaces, and the political world associated with the New York-based studio. Reading Bodies! at the HKW is also a must (14.09. 16–24h, 15.09. 10–19h), featuring performance and discussion on the perception, categorization and interpretation of people and bodies. 14.09 (17h) is the opening of Bjørn Melhus’ exhibitionat the Kindl gallery. The artist’s videos deal with the phenomena of media reality and question the motifs and strategies of the mass media. The week also gives you access to the private Boros Collection on Saturday and Sunday, 14.-15.09. 2019 (10–18h). Last but not least: check out the awards ceremony and party organized by the Re-space project space (13.09. from 19h30). There’s another reason why we’re excited by Art Week: we made the trailer and helped put together a selection of the spots for food and drink if you need a little refreshment as you to and fro between openings.
