FLOWERS, ART & LIGHTNESS: SARAH ILLENBERGER’S SOLID AIR

FLOWERS, ART & LIGHTNESS: SARAH ILLENBERGER’S SOLID AIR

Sarah Illenberger‘s artworks often seem familiar, yet surprise at the same time. Their focus mostly lies on everyday objects into which the artist and illustrator breathes new meaning through the use of unexpected and humorous constellations. Moving between soft pastel shades and bold pop art hues, she creates a highly aestheticised interplay of contrasts. Starting this Friday (27.4.2018), visitors can glimpse her creations in her new exhibition “Solid Air”, on view at Marsano Blumen. Located near Friedrichstr., the shop — with its lovely combination of flowers, plants and decorative objects — is a haven for all things home decor, and provides the perfect backdrop for Illenberger’s latest series. Her digitally reworked balloon constructions look like surrealistic floral arrangements and capture the fleeting flower theme in a new way. Swing by to take home some inspiration and a splash of color — be it for your walls or a vase. (Text: Hanna Komornitzyk / Artworks: Sarah Illenberger)
