BRUS: TANK-TO-GLASS BREWPUB — NOT JUST FOR BEER NERDS

BRUS: TANK-TO-GLASS BREWPUB — NOT JUST FOR BEER NERDS

Situated within a renovated iron foundry on what might just be Copenhagen’s hippest street, find Brus: an eclectic bar with an onsite brewery and a backdrop of oak barrels. The enormous brewpub has a lively and leisurely feel that will make you either sink into its oak-panelled booths, nerd out at the bar with front-row seats to the shiny serving tanks or enjoy the late evening rays on the outdoor beer benches. Less experimental than Mikkeller’s brews but all the more drinkable, Brus’ selection ranges from their refreshing and tart Santa Rabarbera made with Berliner Weisse, rhubarb and mandarin, to malty American Brown Ale, to an imperial carrot cake stout with deep caramel notes and a creamy top hat of foam. A neat extra: The team behind Brus also serves cocktails on tap made with in-house distilled spirits and craft tonic – including the Verbenator made with lemon verbena, apple and vodka – which the team swears by, and so do we. Before you leave, get a souvenir: The shop has a nice selection of guest beers and local talent for the road. (Text: Victoria Pease / Photos: Brus)
