You may not have heard of Calli – The Coffee Club. Tucked on Littenstrasse near the Spree and a short walk from Jannowitzbrücke station, it’s the kind of place you want to gatekeep, if only it weren’t so worth sharing. Opened in December 2025, everything is considered yet unpretentious — a difficult balance to strike. The space feels calm from the moment you step inside, a quiet contrast to the busyness outside. Both coffee and matcha are made with care, the pastries fresh and soft, and hard to stop at just one. Still, it’s the bagel you can’t look past. The team works with We Roast Coffee Berlin, a specialty roastery that sources beans from Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, and Guinea. Alongside the classics, find matcha tonic, cold brew tonic, and flash brew on the menu. The cafés namesake is Calli, a little boss and the founders’ five-year-old son, whose love for hot chocolate shaped the space from the beginning. The story goes that he got a little jealous after his parents, Max and Rebecca, named their hotel after his younger brother Curt, so Calli got his own café. Even the handwritten logo traces back to him, giving the café a personal, homey touch. As a true family-run spot, it’s a warm and thoughtful corner in bustling Berlin. From time to time, the team also hosts cuppings and small workshops, such as one focused on brewing methods, adding another layer to the space.
