“Wash yourself happy” is the motto at Freddy Leck’s, a well-kept promise at this laundromat. Freddy Leck himself, an actor/entertainer, welcomes his customers in the 60’s inspired atmosphere where having a drink, listening to classical music and doing your laundry simultaneously suddenly start to feel natural. Vintage patterned wallpaper gracing the walls and the big wooden table where customers gather around to read and chat make it feel like you’re in your grandma’s kitchen. Speaking of kitchens, Leck’s newest venture next door is called “Leck deine Küche”, a fully equipped professional kitchen with a dining area facing the street. The space is for rent, so invite up to 20 friends and cook without the worry of cleaning the mess — the staff will take care of the rest. (Text & photos: Carlito Schilirò)
