CLARE FREEMAN RECOMMENDS: PAOLA BAGNA

CLARE FREEMAN RECOMMENDS: PAOLA BAGNA

If you are a fan of sustainable, stylish and innovative design you will love the work of Paola Bagna, a Berlin-based architect and designer. Brought up in Catalonia, Spain, Bagna began her architecture training and career in Barcelona and has since worked in award-winning architecture offices in London and Berlin. She creates beautiful pieces and interiors using re-used and salvaged materials. Her new company, Spamroom, aims to use recycled materials in everything from large scale interior projects to small hand-made products. She worked with me and another architect JP Coss(CossA) to design and create the interior for the Plus One Berlin apartment. I particularly love the lamps she made by hand using old copper pipes or the kitchen cabinets fronted with old parquet floorboards. She has a real eye for detail which is reflected in her thoughtful and intricate designs.

Clare Freeman is Founder of a new hospitality concept, Plus One Berlin. She moved from London to Berlin in 2009.
