Converse “Chuck Taylor” All-Stars were my first shoes. Not my first shoes ever, of course, but the first ones I chose for myself as a young teenager. Kurt Cobain wore them, the Ramones, and now me too. “Chucks”, as everyone called them, weren’t shoes, they were an attitude! The years passed and with them the different colors and models I wore — black, blue, bright red, frog green, sometimes with the signatures of all my classmates and a thousand holes, later meticulously maintained, white and always clean. And, at some point, they quietly and secretly disappeared from my wardrobe without me noticing. That’s about to change this summer. Just as my life changed, so did the Converse model with the Run Star Trainer. Inspired by the shoes of the past and the company’s long history, Converse has developed a new sneaker that combines comfort with versatile understatement and retro flair. With its natural-colored rubber sole and suede in five different colors, the Run Star Trainer is a timeless classic, while still offering all the comfort of a contemporary sneaker.
Perfect for the office, a city trip, or a bike ride — my summer will be black. Or white? Or yellow? I can’t decide. It’s a good thing I still have a few days left because the new Converse Run Star Trainer doesn’t launch until 18.06.2024 — reason enough for Zalando to hold four days of pop-up parties at three different locations: Potsdamer Platz, the RAW site and Jules B-Part at Gleisdreieck. Not only will there be shoes to admire, but you can also get a new look, have your hair and nails done, and have your purchases customized. Or you can just come by to dance, as DJs will be awaiting you on-site so you can dance away in your new Converse to the perfect soundtrack.
