Queer, playful and critically-minded forms of resistance fill the program of this year’s music and arts festival 3hd, curated by Creamcake with the aim of challenging the powerful systems that dominate our world. From 23.-27.10.2018, installations, performances and workshops will be held in some of our favorite locations across town (OHM, Säule, HAU) and online. The overarching theme of the festival’s fourth iteration is titled “System.Lure”, and questions the connection between humans and machines, nation states and the law, and flows of capital and people. Two highlights on our radar: On 24.10., a film screening curated by Yony Leyser will focus in on the gaps in dominant societal narratives, infusing them with personal perspectives on gender, sexuality, race and identity. On 25.10., Energy Exchange will take over Säule, featuring performances by Bob Vylan, Casey MQ, Golin and Dis Fig — from melancholic soul and hip hop-infused punk to distorted club music. Enjoy the countdown with Simone C. Niquille’s online commission, Public School — a collection of YouTube “how to” videos with low view counts, in subversion of the algorithms that once buried them.
