Last year Bixels opened in Mitte and has gained many fans and regulars in a short period. Not surprising, since you’ll find Berlin’s best baked potatoes here. If you’re thinking of a simple baked tuber, you’re likely to be disappointed. With a smorgasbord of toppings such as salads, veggies, meat, etc., Daniel Bixel and his team turn this rather unspectacular side dish into a colorful meal. My current fave is the one featuring matjes (salt herring). To sum it up: lovely service, yummiest food and one of this city’s most beautiful interiors.
