LES PROCHAINES AUCTION OF ARTWORKS IS THIS SUNDAY

Have you ever wanted to hear an auctioneer in real life? This Sunday you’ll have your chance. Journalist, Ulrike Demmer, and curator, Bettina Springer, have created Les Prochaines — an event that promises to challenge your old conceptions of a traditional auction. The pair has curated 52 lots — ranging from large oil paintings and prints to collages. There will be household names like Barbara Klemm, Götz Diergarten and Karin Sander. Bettina Springer is particularly excited about the works from up-and-coming Berlin artists’ works like Lucia Kempke’s diptych or Pauline Kraneis’ great graphite drawing “Ocean Hotel”. “Between You and Me”, the 17th century home cumart space will be the backdrop to your bidding war – where Florian Neufeldt’s current exhibition “Change of Illumination” is sure to inspire you. You can scout the catalog on their website from the comfort of your own home. On Sunday head to the auction to preview and bid on that perfect piece for that blank wall space. (Text: Lydia Willie / Artworks & photos: Florian Neufeldt (top), Andrea Brussig (bottom))
