Soon the Berlin woods will become very lush and green, hence the view from the top of Grunewaldturm will become nicer. But even now is a terrific time to admire the forest around you, Teufelsberg and the Havel river, faraway from the Berlin city center. If you take the S-Bahn to “Grunewald” and start from “Schmetterlingsplatz”, it takes around one and a half hours to get there on foot. The route is an easy walk and you’ll find little road signs along the path to guide you. It’s a perfect trek if you only have half a day to spend and enjoy being rewarded (with a view) afterwards. On your way home you can hop on the bus and get off at any S or U-Bahn station heading to your final destination; the bus stop is right in front of the tower.
