PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE — PYRAMIDS OF WASTE

PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE — PYRAMIDS OF WASTE

If you didn’t know about it, it might sound like a conspiracy theory; but it’s actually a known fact and a common practice in industrial design. The “planned obsolescence” – the planning or designing of products to become useless after a certain amount of time. You can even take a course on this topic in universities and has been in practice for almost a hundred years. Arte TV aired an awakening documentary on this policy about two years ago and now it is on Youtube. This is no surprise to many, but is still pretty sad to know that producing something in most cases nowadays means trying profit as much as possible instead of trying to make the best. Watch it in English here.
