COOPERATIVE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE: RE:HOF RUTENBERG IS LOOKING FOR LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

COOPERATIVE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE: RE:HOF RUTENBERG IS LOOKING FOR LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

Tucked away in the Uckermark, almost on the Meck-Pomm border, nestled in an old parish garden, lies Re:hof. For me, it’s a place of total tranquillity and relaxation. And an extremely popular place: to book a weekend in one of the three Tiny Houses, you must reserve months in advance. Owners Martin and Marieken have created, nurtured and cared for this place over the last twelve years. Their attention to detail and respect for nature and sustainability can be felt everywhere — from the converted vicarages with their large windows to the detached minimalist Tiny Houses. But now they are asking themselves the big question: how can this life’s work be continued? For them, selling to investors is not an option; instead, the founding of a cooperative is the declared goal. To place the Re:hof in the hands of a community of like-minded people in the future, who will preserve the values of the place: sustainability, openness and the pursuit of a different way of living together. Supported by Vielleben eG, a model is being created that aims to rethink the combination of communal living and responsible ownership. But one thing should remain: the Re:hof is a place of retreat, not for the few, but for the many who want to actively participate.

This is also a nice option for all those who dream of a place in the countryside but don’t have the time for major renovations of their own. For those who don’t have the budget to manage their own project or don’t want to struggle to do it alone. If your interest has been sparked, this Saturday (07.12.2024) the Re:hof is opening its doors to interested parties. Come along and ask any questions you may have, and get to know this wonderful place. Perhaps it will become your new refuge in the coming year.
