HOMEMADE LOVELINESS AT ROAMERS, THE NEW COFFEE BAR

This little place at the end of Pannierstrasse was once home to a Mexican restaurant. Then Roamers came along with its timber counter, little succulents crowing the tables and hanging from the ceiling, adding a slight American vibe to the joint. The glass cabinet displaying eclectic objects like an old typewriter captures the flair of a bygone era. But rest assured, today’s needs are met here too: WiFi is available,The Heritage Post is waiting to be picked up and the list on the chalkboard will tickle your taste buds. Start your day with a cup of their great tasting coffee or boost your energy with a freshly squeezed juice along with homemade Bircher muesli. For lunch, a soup and a grilled sandwich or bread topped with sesame sprinkled avocado are perfect. Try their cheddar beer bread on hangover days. Everything is fresh and homemade, down to the hummus spread and the carrot cake in the bell jar. Besides the food, it’s the truly lovely and attentive owners, Chris and Flore, that makes Roamers my new favorite hangout. I can’t wait to try all the new dishes that are being added one by one to their ever growing menu. (Text: Nina Trippel / photos: Sasha Mazaika)
