It’s true, I have a weakness for small owner-managed shops – especially when the owners are as warm and open-minded as Sabine, who runs the Heipl concept store on Schlesische Strasse. Her life’s work is to search out all kinds of products that help you in your everyday life and make everything a bit brighter and more beautiful. The range of designs in the shop is endless, with delightfully-made pieces for your desk, your kitchen, the children’s playroom and for your next outdoor adventure. The styles range from lively and colourful to elegant and plain. My personal recommendations? Smart notebooks by Korean Stationary Brand wheniwasyoung, Donna Wilson’s playful tableware and textiles (a black and white fox-shaped blanket!), timeless jewellery by Ting and functional Hasami porcelain. Why not come in one afternoon, have Sabine make you a cappuccino (with beans from Bonanza Coffee) and have a leisurely browse through the myriad colors, shapes and textures. You’ll really find everything you need here, and everything you didn’t know you needed before. (Text: Lisa Strube / Photos: Heipl)
