HOLZAPFEL — CRAFTED KNIVES AND BLADES FROM JAPAN

HOLZAPFEL — CRAFTED KNIVES AND BLADES FROM JAPAN

In 1996, Roy Katzur and Alexis Zweifler decided to follow their passion and open a knife store selling high quality Japanese blades for both home and professional use. The idea took off! They kept the name Holzapfel from their former carpentry business, which is the name of a rare and hard wood used for carving and woodturning, but fits surprisingly well with the rare and perfectly hand-forged knives. In addition to an assortment of sharp tools from around the world, courses to build your own bows and knives are offered at their Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg stores. If your blades are worn down, you can also come to their shops to have them sharpened professionally. For the last decade, Roy and Alexis have practiced the art of knife sharpening, and their service is offered to both private customers and restaurants with pride. Holzapfel is a unique speciality store, with a true wealth of experience. (Text: Stephanie Johne / Photo: Daniel Farò)
