Whether fast or slow, this weekend is all about perseverance. And these tips will help you cross the finish line. The last word has not yet been spoken at Hamburger Bahnhof. On Thursday (03.04.2025), the talk series Crossroads: Literature Meets Art returns for its second round, exploring new perspectives on the intersections of art and literature. This time, multimedia artist Cemile Sahin and German Book Prize winner Tonio Schachinger meet in a space where photography, film, and novels collide with the world of video games. Sahin’s latest cinematic work, Road Runner, and Schachinger’s novel, Echtzeitalter, tackle themes of drone missions, video game aesthetics, Viennese boarding school life, and the desire to belong. Just drop by – admission is free! Kruut in Berlin-Mitte also embraces creative collaboration but at a slower pace. This weekend (04–05.04.2025), the wild herb specialists will host The Slow Label, a brand built on sustainable materials, mindful consumption, and transparent production processes. Their sample sale offers unique pieces created during the brand’s creative process — artifacts from photo shoots, archived gems, and one-of-a-kind items, some of which come with up to 60% discounts. Kruut’s wild herb products will also be available for purchase. The fashion theme continues on Saturday (05.04.2025), as Filter Magazine hosts the third edition of Filter Play at Kühlhaus.
This independent fashion magazine focuses less on trends and more on the people shaping the industry. Their stories unfold in the latest issue but also live at Kühlhaus, where the event will feature a magazine release, video screenings, live music, and exhibitions by artists like Maren Lilian and Laura Vifer. Expect an extensive lineup, drinks, and even tattoos. Naturally, everyone with a love for fashion is invited! If you’re already feeling the urge to move, you may know Optimistic Runners. This young sportswear brand merges high-performance functionality with modern silhouettes. To celebrate the half marathon and their running community, they’re hosting a shake-out run on Saturday (05.04.2025), followed by well-earned sandwiches from Romeo’s. A fair deal for those anticipating sore muscles. On Sunday (06.04.2025), they’ll help runners cool down with post-race drinks and a cozy film screening. Meanwhile, Adidas and Ante are teaming up for a pop-up event. On Saturday, browse Ante’s new summer collection or customize a fresh pair of Adidas sneakers. Lap Coffee will be serving coffee and snacks, and on Sunday (06.04.2025), the collaboration continues with refreshments throughout the day. But before that, Sunday is all about running. The 44th Berlin Half Marathon kicks off with a staggered start between the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column. The route winds west to Charlottenburg Palace, then southeast past the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, across Potsdamer Platz, past the City Palace, with a brief detour onto Karl-Marx-Allee, before returning Unter den Linden to the Brandenburg Gate. Whether you’re racing, rolling, or cheering from the sidelines, best of luck to all participants!
