I try to catch a glimpse of the rooftop of “Neukölln Arcaden”, but it is too high. I walk further to the shopping mall’s entrance at Karl-Marx-Strasse and hop into a crowded elevator. After the 4th floor, I am left with only few others, and the whole thing starts to feel a bit like a conspiracy. As the doors on the 5th floor open, I see that the lights are starting to illuminate the top floor as dusk approaches. Right now there are lots of hammering and sawing going on here; Klunkerkranich is expanding. But kitchen and bar are already in full swing, serving piadine and cocktails. For the early birds, breakfast is served from 10h. Those who want to enjoy the current pre-summer atmosphere, go for sunset drinks (with music every night) before it gets overcrowded like last year!
