After 15 years, the Deutsche Guggenheim, the Berlin branch in collaboration with Deutsche Bank on Unter den Linden, closed its doors last year. This weekend a new project will be celebrating its opening at the same art space. Besides exhibitions from the large collection of Deutsche Bank, it will host contemporary artists from new art hotspots in Asia, Africa and South America. Collaborations with Berlin-based artists is a part of the concept, as well as the presentation of its “Artist of the Year”. This Friday the gallery will host the premiere exhibition called “Macht Kunst” (Make Art), a project in which local artists were invited to submit their works for jury selection, which were then brought together by René Block as a wall-sized presentation.
