If you’re a lover of high-quality leather and precision craftsmanship, you’ll want to check out the distinctive, luxurious designs from Frankfurt bag brand Tsatsas. The label was founded in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas in Frankfurt am Main, and follows family tradition: Tsatsas’ father ran a leather workshop in neighboring Offenbach for over 40 years. The duo make perfectly-detailed bags, cases, and wallets in subtle colors – all made from calfskin in Germany. The perfect fusion of design and architecture (Esther is a trained architect), the collection will be on show in Berlin today and tomorrow (10 & 12.11.2022) at the offices of star architect Sir David Chipperfield.
Alongside their latest bags, Dimitros and Esther will also be showing their latest collaboration with Chipperfield. The two parties first met in 2017 and ended up making a carry-on suitcase – not surprising given how the architect constantly zips between his offices in Berlin, London, Milan and Shanghai. Now there’s a second collab: The Case Collection, which includes six different designs that are very much in the luxury category yet suitable for everyday use. It includes the likes of a briefcase in which you can stow a 16-inch laptop, calendar and notes, and a glasses case that’s a stylish companion for your spectacles. You can see and buy the collection in Mitte for three days starting today (10.11).
