MADAME NGO — WHERE INDOCHINE MET FRENCH CUISINE

Madame Ngo is featured in our book Cee Cee Berlin No2Get the book here.

Big pots decorate the window display and three letters are left from an old sign: PHO. And yes, you will find phở soups here. Yet the restaurant goes by the name Madame Ngo – after the last name of the owner, Duc Ngo, who is an experienced restauranteur and creator of Kuchi and Cocolo Ramen. In the restaurant’s main area, chefs prepare meals at long counters in diners’ full view, while in the back you can sit comfortably at wooden tables. From fried foie gras with mango in veal juice, to a classic phở gà chicken soup, all dishes are delicious and freshly prepared. In particular, I recommend the bouillabaisse with a glass of Johannes Leitz’s Riesling for the perfect evening. (Text: Helen von der Höden / Photos: Daniel Farò)
