Joining a class at Moss Keramik with Mia Moss was one of the best decisions I made in 2018. Pottery is big these days, so naturally I had to try it out. The group was small, just four people, learning to shape clay pots on the wheel. Mia’s passion for pottery isn’t new – it goes back to a class she took eight years ago in the US. She was educated pre-hype, and has a lot of experience. She patiently shares that expertise while keeping a relaxed, witty vibe to her lessons. After all, handmade pottery isn’t about perfection, it’s about trying – and trying again – but always having a good time. Pottery is no longer a hobby exclusive to 50+ vacationers in Italy – it’s great for breaking free of your digital devices. Try scrolling with clay on your hands! Mia’s classes are popular, so book now or test your luck. As for me, I’ll be going back for more time on the wheel. You can also pick up a unique piece by Mia herself at her February 2019 open studio – I’ll be getting one! (Text: Nina Trippel / Photos: Moss Keramik)
