Summer’s over and winter’s not yet arrived, so it’s time to start daydreaming. For anyone who has wanderlust but is stuck in cold Berlin, maybe a day trip to Austria is worth it – because it’s right on Auguststrasse, at least for a few days (25–28.10.2023). The Alpine country beckons visitors to the gallery-like pop-up “Feel Austria” with all the hospitality, tempting specialties and soul-soothing warmth for which we know and love the nation. There’s not only lots of exquisite products to discover, but also cooking demonstrations (who’s heard of Steirisches Wurzelfleisch?), wine, beer and cheese tastings, as well as Gmundner ceramic painting classes all on the program. Places are limited, so it’s best to sign up for one of the workshops right away. Mountain tradition and cozy feelings can also be taken home later to accompany you through the long-lasting Berlin autumn. Workshops and events are free of charge. It’s just like a real vacation to tide you over. And who knows: maybe your next trip will even take you to the mountains?
