Studio Oppermann is a kind of store that goes unnoticed after passing by three times in a row. But once you stop and take a closer look, your eyes will automatically start scanning one product after another. Your brain may not be able to register the concept right away. To your left you’ll see a rack with postcards: some with artsy images, others with lovely pictures or funny jokes. Next to it lay fine letter papers and a stack of Gref-Völsings canned beef. You won’t be able to stop yourself from digging through this gift shop: from homemade regional jam and a variety of mustard to antique seals, over sized matches to other rarities. This gem of a shop describes its range as a mix of “aesthetic”, “handy” and “yummy” stuff. At Douglas they’d say: come in and find out. (Photos: Benjamin Lindenkreuz)
